Home again….zzzz….(and Project 52, week 3)

Its going to take a while to recover from this very unusual weekend I suspect!

The rest of the show, Jamie & Gary’s slots, went quite smoothly - Jamie and Steve went to report on the sunrise from the carpark by live phone link, Gary’s “random request generator” idea threw up some interesting tracks.  Neil from Friday crew arrived ready to take over with his breakfast show to follow on from Gary at 7am.   We eventually decided to give McDonalds a miss and head straight home - I never did get round to getting changed either, must have looked a sight at the garage getting petrol on the way home!

I managed to get a few hours kip when I got home - the only person to get any sleep during the actually broadcast was Jamie, and he managed about 5 mins!  I’ve also now managed to add more photos to the previous post.

Project 52, Week 3 - what could sum up the last week more than a photo from the 50hr broadcast?  So this weeks “photo of the week” is……

Ok - it wasn’t actually taken by me - but I really like it.

Wide awake!

The coffee has kicked in - my show is over, and the lights are back on!  Steve is waking everyone up well and truly - although the jokes aren’t so great!

Its still a bit odd to look at the clock and see what the time is, as it still seems a lot earlier than it is, particularly now the lights are back on.  Its also a bit odd sitting here still in the clothes I wore to the wedding reception - normally I would not be quite so dressed up in the studio - I will no doubt go and get changed, and remove make up, before we head off for breakfast later in the morning - walking into McDonalds in party outfit, make up and platform boots first thing in the morning might just look a touch odd!!

GO!!

Its 1.55am, and I have been on-air at Hospital Radio Lynn for about 55 mins, trying to “chill out” after rushing away from a friend’s wedding reception to be here!

Its a bit odd being here at this time of night/morning, but at the moment I’m wide awake, and can’t quite believe that its actually as late as it is.  I’ve not actually broadcasted for some time, so a few hiccups to start with, but at least we have a proper mixer today, after the temporary solution following the lightening strike which damaged so much of our equipment.

My slot should finish in about 1 hr 20 mins, when I hand over to Steve for a sort of trance/dance slot which he has lined up.  Sort of a wake up call to the patients after my couple of hours of really laid-back music!  From what I’ve heard it sounds pretty good.

for the HRL 50 hour marathon broadcast!

Its actually already started this evening, but Thursday crew has picked a very sensible slot time of 1am to 7am Sunday morning (yawn) which should mean we finish just in time for Mcdonalds to open for breakfast…..

I’ve decided to do a “chill out” session with some of my favourite music for relaxing to.  I’ve spent some time compiling my playlist to pick only the most relaxing, so if anyone stays awake to listen to the rest (including me!) it will be a miracle.

I am hoping to update my blog during the broadcast - as long as I can stay awake - also probably will be on facebook just in case anyone is up and about….oh and I’ve stocked up with coffee, coke and red bull, just in case!
